Pope Francis wrote a letter to every person on this planet urging them to protect the Earth, our “common home”. This letter was called Laudato Si’. Pope Francis encourages us to work together to create a better world for future generations and asks us to make important changes in our lives in order to take care of, respect, and value our common home.
In February, the children in Religious Education watched a presentation by Antonio Davila on climate change. After the presentation, we asked the children to create a poster around the theme of caring for God’s creation planet Earth. The winner of the best poster was Sara Cannon from Mrs. Clara Zacarias’s class.
Sara is preparing for her First Holy Communion in May. She received a chocolate prize for her efforts and her entire class celebrated with an ice cream party. Congratulations Sara!
