Since March, the Meals for the Homeless Group from our parish has prepared and served over 1500 nutritious, hot meals in support of the street pastor at the homeless shelter in The Hague. This important outreach continues and is even more important during the middle of the pandemic, providing hot meals to people living on the street in The Hague. Sometimes it is really sad for the team to see the guests leaving with their take-away bags in the rain instead of being able to enjoy the meal someplace warm and sociable. But the food is hot and served with a smile, so for a short time at least, the guests can be warm on the inside.
Many thanks to Isabelle and Anne, who organize the group, to the people who have donated towards the effort, and to the volunteers who cooked, heated, packed and served the meals. The next meal will be served on 23 October. If you would like to participate in any way or to have more information about the group, please contact them at homelessdinnercs@gmail.com
