“This year’s retreat was a wonderful experience!” proclaimed retreat coordinator Julieta Timane. From Friday 4 November through Sunday 6 November, a group from our parish travelled to the Bezinningscentrum Emmaus in Helvoirt (near Den Bosch) to attend this year’s parish retreat.
Fr. Ad van der Helm used his years of experience and engaging leadership style to lead the retreat on the topic, “Sacraments, Art & Poetry”. As several choir members attended, the group was also able to “pray twice” with music and song elevating the masses. The location was closer to Den Haag than previous retreats, and the venue had beautiful gardens and a grotto! Next year’s retreat will be held at the same venue at the suggestion of this year’s attendees.
It was a spiritually rewarding weekend with many beautiful connections and friendships being forged and strengthened. The group has also agreed to meet up for a reunion in a few months time to follow up on the experience and make sure they stay connected with each other.
Next year’s Parish Retreat weekend is on 6-8 October 2023. More information will be published closer to the date on our website.
