Memorial of the Bezuidenhout bombardment

March 3, 2023

On 3 March 1945, the neighborhood of Bezuidenhout was accidentally bombed. Hundreds of people lost their lives and thousands were left homeless. The beautiful church that stood on this site was destroyed. It took a decade for the church that we now use to be built on the site.

Every year, the neighborhood of Bezuidenhout gathers to remember those who died during that tragic event. This year, the ceremony was held on Sunday, 5 March.
