Pope Francis Urges World Leaders to offer “Concrete Hope”

November 5, 2021

Although Pope Francis will not be able to attend COP26, he has recorded a speech for BBC Radio 4’s “Thought for the Day” with a very clear message. Consistent with his encyclical, Laudato Si’, the Pope urges world leaders to act decisively to take advantage of the current challenges to make radical changes. He also encourages all of us to act, saying, “each of us – whoever and wherever we may be – can play our own part in changing our collective response to the unprecedented threat of climate change and the degradation of our common home.”

The Pope’s complete message can be found on the Vatican website.
