With a group of 11 people from 3 different countries, Fr. Sjaak travelled to Rio with some of his godchildren, on a trip that had been planned since 2010.
For all the visitors it was a first time visit to Brazil. The experiences of the carnival parades, Ash Wednesday service in the Cathedral, visiting a project for handicapped children from the slums, and seeing the beauty of nature, made it a once in a lifetime trip.
This trip was made possible through the generosity of donors, and a substantial monetary gift was also made to the rehabilitation center for the kids.
