Amnesty International Appeals

March 11, 2022

Our Amnesty International Group will resume its activity in 2022. A letter from Fr. Sjaak on the subject can be found here. Below are brief descriptions of the first two appeals. For more information on either of the two appeals, or to sign the digital letters, you can scan or click on the QR codes below. Or, you can drop by the Amnesty International table after mass on 13 March or 10 April.

Stop the aggression and protect civilians in Ukraine: On 24 February, the Russian authorities took the decision to use force against Ukraine without any legal justification and initiated a military invasion. Russia has flagrantly violated international law and the United Nations Charter. Right now, thousands of lives are at risk. Send an email to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and demand that Russia ends the aggression immediately, protects civilians, and respects international law.

Ending vaccine inequality now: Currently, billions of people in low and lower-middle-income countries are missing out on lifesaving vaccines against Covid-19. Companies like Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson are actively blocking other manufacturers from producing much-needed doses and prioritizing selling vaccines to rich countries. Send emails directly to BioNTech, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer and call on them to end vaccine inequality to save millions of lives.
